The Philosophy Behind the Plate
We believe food is more than a menu. It is a story, a memory, and a connection. Every event we cater is deeply personal, whether it is an intimate dinner for ten or a gala for hundreds. We listen to your vision, uncover the moments that matter most, and craft a dining experience that reflects who you are and what you want your guests to feel.
Our goal is not just to feed people. It is to create a shared moment they will talk about long after the plates are cleared. From the first conversation to the final toast, we pour our passion, creativity, and precision into every detail so you can be fully present in your celebration.
This is not catering as usual. This is food with heart, events with soul, and hospitality that is as personal as it is unforgettable.

Meet your Queens of Cuisine

Chef Adesuwa Elaiho
Owner and Executive Chef, Asukar & Tim the Girl Catering
Chef Adesuwa Elaiho believes the most unforgettable events are built on connection, a shared table, a meaningful story, and flavors that linger long after the last bite.
Trained in Paris at the world‑renowned Le Cordon Bleu, she became the first student to earn diplomas in Cuisine, Pastry, and Sommelier studies. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Food Safety & Nutrition, and her work has been recognized in The New York Times, Southern Living, Food Network, Woman’s World, and Magnolia & Moonshine, along with more than 150 other publications worldwide. A Food Network competitor and winner of more than 40 international awards, Chef Adesuwa brings both artistry and precision to her craft.
For more than a decade, Chef Tim McDiarmid has been her mentor and friend. When the opportunity arose to carry forward the legacy of Tim the Girl Catering, Adesuwa embraced it as a natural next chapter. Today she blends Tim’s vibrant creativity with her own refined culinary style under the Asukar family, crafting menus that reflect each client’s vision, heritage, and personality.
From the first tasting to the final toast, her goal remains the same: to create experiences so personal and full of heart that they become cherished memories for years to come.

Tim McDiarmid
Founder and Culinary Advisor
Chef Tim McDiarmid grew up on a farm in rural Canada, where growing and preparing her own food was simply part of life. For Tim, “farm to table” has never been a trend; it is her history. After a decade working in some of New York City’s most visionary whole‑foods restaurants, she made her home in sunny, laid‑back San Antonio, then on the cusp of a culinary renaissance. As a single mother, she sought a career that would allow her to spend time with her son while continuing to share the wholesome, playful diet she loved.
In 2011, Tim the Girl Catering was born. Over the years, Tim earned numerous awards and accolades, opened The Good Kind Café, became a James Beard Fellow, and competed on Food Network’s Chopped. She has always been an advocate for making our food system more delicious, diverse, and sustainable for everyone.
In 2025, Tim made the decision to pass the torch to her longtime mentee and friend, Chef Adesuwa Elaiho. This transition ensures that the legacy of Tim the Girl will not only continue but grow, blending Tim’s vibrant creativity with Adesuwa’s world‑class training and artistry. Today, Tim serves as Founder and Culinary Advisor, providing guidance, insight, and inspiration to the team she built. Her hope is that Tim the Girl’s reputation for joyful, imaginative, and heartfelt celebrations will flourish for decades to come, creating even more unforgettable moments.
